Usually you can't or shouldn't install 32-bit (x86) on x64 (64-bit);). Such a thing can only lead to problems and if it does work, then it is definitely not right.
According to MS:
All hardware devices require 64-bit drivers to work with a 64-bit version of Windows. Developed 32-bit versions of drivers for Windows 11, 10, ... will not work on computers running 64-bit versions of Windows.
I had the same problem with a printer that I absolutely needed. It was an old dot matrix printer; the manufacturer did not have the right driver for the operating system.
Well, what can I do, there was only one Windows 98 driver and I needed the dot matrix printer or absolutely (new dot matrix printers are not exactly cheap to get, as are plotters )!
I have installed the Microsoft Virtual PC on Windows 7 and run Windows 98 as a virtual PC. Here I installed the appropriate driver and lo and behold, the line break, margins, page format and everything else fit.
Sounds awkward, but it's not. The Windows 98 installation took 10 minutes and the installation of the virtual PC only 2 minutes. The driver installation also only takes 2 minutes. So a total of 14 minutes. Before that, I searched the internet for the right driver for over 30 minutes;).
I think that this would also work under Windows-10, 8.1, 7, x64, or x32 and also on other Windows servers (2008, 2012, 2016). If you have experience with the procedure for installing drivers, you can send me a message (it would be nice).

Oh yes, the printer must be installed with the internal driver of Windows 7, 8, 10 and shared in the network so that the virtual system can access it. In virtual Windows 's own 32-bit driver is then installed.
